(Christian-Social Party of Switzerland)
The CSP is a small Christian-social party to the left of the CVP, active in
only five cantons. It has currently 1 seat in the 200-seat lower chamber of the
Swiss Parliament (Nationalrat = National Council).

The CSP/PCS emerged in 1997 from the left part of the Catholic, mainly
centrist CVP. It was represented in the national parliament from 1995-2011. It
is currently not represented in the national parliament, but in the cantonal
parliaments of Jura, Fribourg, Wallis and Zürich. The CSP Obwalden is a
separated party, that had observer status in the Swiss CSP from 2005 to 2010. In
the larger CVP there are still sections called CSP, thus the nomenclature is
somewhat difficult.
The CSP has a logo consisting of a very stylized
human being in turquoise combined with party name and abbreviation in German and
French, all in black. The flag is a beach flag with the logo and a turquoise
border [1,2].
